Calm Harbour Therapy

Project Scope

Website Design & Squarespace Build
Visual Identity Design

The Brief

Nick is a child and adolescent psychotherapist who wanted help with branding and a website as he set up his practice, Cold Harbour Therapy. The challenge was to create a calm, contemporary and approachable identity that felt equally welcoming to children, young people and parents, as well as adults seeking  individual therapy, with accessibility and neurodiversity in mind throughout.

The visual direction needed to feel reassuring without being overly playful or child-focused, nautical or clinical. It was also important to strike a careful balance between masculine and feminine cues, creating an inclusive identity that didn’t lean too heavily towards any one audience.

The Approach

The logo is built around the initials C and H, turned on their sides to resemble a setting sun reflected on water and playing with harbour visual cues. The fluid, organic forms bring a sense of calm and stability, with a nod to adaptability and growth at the heart of therapy.

Colours are designed to feel gentle and calming, drawing on nature-inspired blues and neutrals, with Salted Copper adding warmth and contrast through subtle accents. Typography pairs the friendly, contemporary Urbanist with Atkinson Hyperlegible, a highly readable typeface chosen to support accessibility and readability.

The identity was carried through to a custom multi-page Squarespace website, packed with helpful content for parents and individuals looking for information and reassurance around starting therapy.

“Tanya made the whole process feel clear and manageable, with a personal, collaborative approach that meant I never felt lost or distant from the work.

As a CYP psychotherapist setting up my private practice, I knew I needed a website and brand but had no idea where to start. From the get-go, it was clear Tanya really knew her stuff. She asked perceptive questions about my practice and audience, then broke the process down into straightforward steps without any confusing jargon. She was always responsive to questions and happy to adapt things around my schedule.

I was particularly impressed with the branding process. It was clear Tanya had put a lot of thought, effort and soul into creating my logo, and she brought the same care and expertise to the website build.

The finished design beautifully reflects the values I was aiming for, and colleagues have commented on its high‑quality finish. I couldn’t recommend Tanya and Leapdog Design more highly.
