What type of website is right for you?

Not every business needs a huge website straight away. If you’re not sure if a single or multi-page website is right for you, we can work out what makes the most sense for your business, audience, budget and goals.

Single-page website

A hardworking single-page site can be a great option for startups or new businesses who want to get online quickly and confidently.

It works well when you:

  • Have a focused offer or service

  • Need something high-level and no-fuss

  • Want a professional online presence to direct people to

  • A single-page website can take 1-2 weeks if copy and assets are ready to go.

  • A single-page site with copy and assets supplied is from £800.

Multi-page website

If your business needs space to explain your services in more detail with room for growth, a multi-page website may be the better fit.

It works well when you:

  • Offer multiple services or speak to different audiences

  • Need to build trust before people say yes

  • Want to improve visibility on Google

  • Approx 4-6 weeks for a multi-page site, depending on scope and receipt of content.

  • For multi-page sites (4-8 pages) expect to invest between £2,000 - £3,500.

Larger builds, or for those that need a bit more function, content or technical integration, expect to invest from £3,500.

How the website design process works

Once you’re happy with the proposal and we’ve squared away the deposit, I'll dive into understanding your business through a detailed client questionnaire, market research, and competitor analysis.

Together, we'll workshop the site structure and I’ll develop wireframes to map out page content and user flow.

1 / Discover

Next, I’ll craft the visual style for your website, including colours, fonts, imagery, icons/graphics, and logo development if needed.

I’ll develop a homepage mockup with placeholder text, allowing you time to prepare your copy and any photography needed before build starts. development begins.

2 / Design

With assets approved and copy in hand, I can start to build your website! I work on Squarespace, ensuring a responsive design for all devices. I’ll optimise copy and imagery during this phase, and ensure the site is set up for SEO, including metadata and all on-page best practises.

3 / Develop

Before launching, I’ll run comprehensive checks, including browser and device compatibility, and help you to set up your domain and hosting plan. Once live, I’ll submit the site to Google Search Console for indexing and provide support and training so you’re 100% confident in managing your new site.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me

  • The initial discovery call is a free, no-obligation 20-minute chat where you can tell me where you are with your business, discuss your project, get an idea of prices and process, and ask me any questions before deciding how you’d like to proceed.

There’s no obligation to go ahead, if, for any reason, the fit isn’t right.

  • Before starting any branding or website design project, I ask every client to complete a detailed questionnaire. It helps me get a comprehensive understanding of your business, audience, goals for the project, as well as inform the overall look and feel.

Bear in mind, for website projects, you’ll likely need some professional photography (a decent camera phone can do the job well) as well as some draft text, but this can be developed together if needed.

  • Not necessarily. A simple styling package can be added to your web project so your colours and fonts are established before the design begins. This ensures every page feels cohesive and professional.

  • All websites require a cookie notice and a privacy policy by law if you are collecting any form of personal data. It is also advisable to include a business terms page, and, if you have a shop, conditions and shipping policies.

As these are legal documents specific to your business, I can't provide these for you, but there are a number of online resources you can use with free and paid templates.

  • Timelines vary depending on scope, content provided, and whether you need any branding work done alongside the project, but as a rough guide:

    • One-page Squarespace websites: 1–2 weeks

    • Multi-page websites: 4–6 weeks

    • Logo and styling: additional 1-2 weeks

  • For smaller or single-page websites I’ll typically ask for 50% at the start of the project with the balance due on completion.

With larger web builds, I’ll split this into three payments, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Alongside your website project, you’ll need to budget for a domain name, Squarespace subscription (hosting), and possibly a custom email address or other third-party tools.

As a rough guide, a domain is often around £10–£20 per year, Squarespace plans around £12–£30+ per month, and custom email is often around £5–£10 per month per mailbox. Depending on your requirements, there may also be extra costs for things like scheduling tools, stock images or email marketing software.

You may also want to factor in professional photography, which can make a big difference to how polished and credible your website feels.

  • Absolutely. Ongoing support is available after your Squarespace website launches. Whether you need small updates, design tweaks, additional pages or help adding or managing content as your business evolves, support can be tailored to what you need.
